Miranda Lewis and Matthew Davis, Co-Direcctors of m2 consultants. m2 acts as an organisational learning partner to a wide range of clients including Comic Relief, King’s Fund, Home-Start UK, Clore Social Leadership, Counterpoints Arts, Reprieve and the Association of Chairs.

Miranda was formerly Associate Director and Head of Qualitative Research at the IPPR think tank. Miranda is a qualified personal and performance coach and specialises in working with voluntary sector leaders and senior campaigners. Miranda is also an IVAR (the Institute for Voluntary Action Research) Associate and a Trustee of Richmond CVS.
Before becoming a consultant, Matthew worked for WWF-UK for eight years, latterly as Climate Change Campaigns Director. For three years Matthew was a guest lecturer in environmental communications at Birkbeck University and he is also a published songwriter and young person's fiction writer.

Every group is different, and every individual has different needs, desires and ideas on how things should be done. Managing both your staffs’ and your own expectations can be challenging at times. However, with a good understanding of group dynamics and some useful tools, you can work with your team to produce brilliant results.

• Which organisational approaches foster good management
• Alternative non-hierarchical structures
• Balancing consensus with quick decision making
• Active listening, supervision & appraisals
• Managing teams - team composition, delegating & roles
• Understanding your personal management style
• Running effective meetings

During the day, participants will identify their personal management strengths and develop practical strategies they can use in the workplace. This course also allows participants to look at the alternatives to ‘top-down structures’ and how to build less hierarchical teams that are happy, empowered and productive.

This leadership & management training for managers, includes a bespoke follow-up support phone call with every participant.
