Neurodiversity Training

This new and exciting course provides a welcoming space for you to explore neurodiversity and how different cognitive profiles shape participation. You’ll discover ways to enable people to contribute confidently, whether in your community projects or at work.

Through lively discussion and experiential activities, participants will unpack assumptions, deepen understanding and build confidence in applying neuro-inclusion to everyday practice.

What you will explore in the session

  • Neurodiversity and neurodivergence from a strengths-based perspective
  • Challenges in group, work, and community settings
  • How cognitive profiles influence group dynamics
  • Focusing on the person, not the diagnosis
  • How organisational and societal structures can create barriers
  • Challenging limiting norms and assumptions
  • Different neurodivergent profiles from autism, ADHD, Dyslexia to Tourette’s syndrome
  • Key areas of challenge – communication, sensory sensitivity, and executive functioning

By the end of the session, participants will

  • Understand neurodiversity and neurodivergence through a strengths-based lens.
  • Recognise how cognitive profiles influence group dynamics
  • Identify commonly held assumptions that create barriers to being neuro-inclusive
  • Leave with practical tools and insights to foster neuro-inclusive work and community environments

What you will do

  • Explore current theories and best practice
  • Come away feeling energised and ready to empower your community
