Location: South Devon (Torbay & Totnes)
Delivery Dates: Oct – Dec 2023
Duration & Salary: 12 x days @ £200 per day
Job Specification
Talk Action are looking for a freelance trainer/community development worker to co-design and deliver our next My Streets project. Together with one of our trainers, you’ll deliver workshops on ‘Community Events Management’. You don’t need to be an events expert (although some knowledge will be helpful) but you will need to be able to deliver high standard training and life-skills workshops.
Delivery requirements
- 15 x ½ day planning sessions (in Dartington with co-trainer)
- 9 x weeks of ½ day training workshops & mentoring in Torbay area

Experience & Skills Required
Essential
- Designing & planning training
- Delivering training in a professional or community setting
- Working with community groups/unemployed/disadvantage communities
- Enthusiastic & positive attributes with a passion for community development
Desirable
- Managing events &/or project management experience (This was initially an ‘essential’ but we feel that an ability to empower participants and develop their confidence to be a bigger priority)
- Mentoring & coaching skills
- Understanding of group dynamics and conflict
- Able to deliver workshops in communications and life-skills.
