This participative and experiential training enables you to experiment with ideas and apply to your own projects. The course is based not only on our legal responsibilities but also the cultural context. We explore intersectional impacts of discrimination and marginalisation, anti-discriminatory action and allyship. We will support you to develop behaviours and actions that enhance your skills including in dealing with conflict that can arise with EDI issues. This is a fast-paced day full of group work and lively debate.

Rooted in the Equality Act 2010 & beyond, we take things further, empowering you to:

Meet the trainer

Helen West

Helen has over 25 years’ experience as a Senior Management Professional with specialist skills in stakeholder engagement; equality and diversity; strategic planning; management and organisational development; change management. She has developed specialisms in conflict resolution, diversity and inclusion and has delivered highly successful programmes on these topics for various organisations.

Helen uses a range of experiential tools and methods to bring clarity and consensus to live issues. She has worked for numerous organisations & public bodies including Sheffield Green Party, National Union of Students UK, Sheffield City Council, Equality Challenge Unit (Advance HE), UKCISA, Sheffield City Council, and South Yorkshire Police.

Helen has also been chair of the Diversity Action Group and is an accredited facilitator in conflict resolution approaches using restorative practices (International Institute for Restorative Practices)
